QUESTION: YOU DON'T SEEM WORRIED? _ANSWER: WOULD IT HELP?

MEET COLONEL RUDOLF IVANOVICH ABEL.

Rudolf Ivanovich Abel (Russian: Рудольф Иванович Абель), real name Vilyam "Willie" Genrikhovich Fisher (Вильям "Вилли" Генрихович Фишер),
(July 11, 1903 – November 15, 1971) was a Soviet intelligence officer. He adopted his alias when arrested on charges of conspiracy by FBI agents in 1957.
Born in the United Kingdom to Russian émigré parents, Fisher moved to Russia in the 1920s and served in the Soviet military before undertaking foreign service as a radio operator in Soviet intelligence in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

He later served in an instructional role before taking part in intelligence operations against the Germans during World War II. After the war, he began working for the KGB, which sent him to the United States where he worked as part of a spy ring based in New York City.

In 1957 the U.S. Federal Court in New York convicted Fisher on three counts of conspiracy as a Soviet spy for his involvement in what became known as the Hollow Nickel Case and sentenced him to 30 years' imprisonment at Atlanta Federal Penitentiary, Georgia.

[6] He served just over four years of his sentence before he was exchanged for captured American U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers. Back in the Soviet Union, he lectured on his experiences before dying in 1971 at the age of 68.

WHAT INTRIGUES ME ABOUT THIS CALM SPY?

I saw a Movie about him " THE BRIDGE OF SPIES"
1:He was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment yet was still as calm as ever, his lawyer asked him, " You don't seem worried?" His answer was "Would it Help?"
2: During the prisoner exchange, he was sure that his people might kill him if they discovered he had leaked any of their Government secret. Yet again he remained calm, this confused the lawyer again who asked the same question.
"You don't seem worried that you might be killed?" His answer was yet again..." Would it Help?".

THE LESSON HERE!

If we can only be COOL,CALM AND COLLECTED,things most times will work out for our good. Our problem is ...WE WORRY TOO MUCH.

Life is too precious to spend most of or some of it worrying. We worry about work, school, family, children, money, food, shelter etc. Some even worry about hair colour, hair style, body shape etc.

Some worry about funny things like; who likes me and who doesn't, about how they look, would he remember my birthday, our anniversary, etc.

Rudolph Abel was facing a life and torture before death situation yet he remained calm and collected. He remained a patriot to his country till the end, eventually time and chance happened to him.
Let's Learn a lesson from this Cold War Spy.!
